Got a call today from a company looking for people to drive to homes, take 3 outside photos, and 2 interior photos.

THEY ACTUALLY WANTED TO PAY ME $5.00!!! Not $50.00 BUT 5 BUCKS!!

What the heck is going on these days?

I get those request all the time. Most of the request are about an hour drive away. I had one person call me on one and I said for that price, I'll only do it if it can be taken from looking through my kitchen window. $5 is what I spend on a subway sandwich. I get better perks as a mystery shopper.

Don't give them any ideas. Probably, it will be something akin to "If you conduct 9 field reviews for us, at no charge, we will pay you $50 for the 10th review. I used to conduct those Field Service inspections. But, you work your tail off for meager pay and end up earning less than half of minimum wage.

Not only that, but you also end up adding un-reimbursed wear & tear to your automobile, unneeded stress to your life and you usually encounter aggressive homeowners behind on their payments. To top it all off, several of the companies I've completed assignments for have yet to pay me.

Unfortunately, the cost to pursue those meager earnings would far exceed the pay, if I was even able to get said money from them. No, thank you. I'd rather invest my time & money in finding more lucrative employment.
