I am in desperate need of help
That, of course, is what my psychiatrist has been telling me for years.
Two weeks ago, I signed up for a program called Google Voice. I did so because I understood that by using it, any calls to my landline would also ring my cell phone. That did not turn out to be the case. The worst was yet to come, however.
Google sends all my messages to a Google voice mail program that I cannot access. As a consequence, I want to drop out of Google Voice. But if I understand what I am reading, having now signed up, I cannot quit. Let me say that again: I CANNOT QUIT. What I am reading says that dropping out is not now an option, but Google is working on it. Mind you, WORKING ON IT!
I have found no email address where I can confirm that, or get any assistance. I have found no phone number. I have found no physical address where I can toss a Molotov cocktail into Google's lobby..
I am, at this point, depending on where I am in the cycle of trying to find my way out of the Google Voice maze, irked, frustrated, irritated, angry, pissed off, really pissed off, enraged, or homicidal. There may come a time when I will simply give up and become suicidal.
Has anybody else signed up for this nonsense? Does anybody have any contact information for Google?
Please?

Big guy, go back in and look at the forwarding block
I use them for a local # in NC, so my barefoot, no opposable thumb family members can contact their traveling relation out west. Going on 4 years now and works like a charm.

Re: Big guy, go back in and look at the forwarding block
Don't want to use them. Don't want to go back in. Don't want to look at the forwarding block. Want to cuddle up each night with my Vonage service, secure in the knowledge that I can cancel it at any time, and when I need to talk to someone, I can.
I won't eat it! I won't! I won't ever! You can't make me!

In that case, your only quick out may be to change your numbers. I have a feeling there no easy solutions here.

Have you tried this?
13.2 If you want to terminate your legal agreement with Google, you may do so by (a) notifying Google at any time and (b) closing your accounts for all of the Services which you use, where Google has made this option available to you. Your notice should be sent, in writing, to Google’s address which is set out at the beginning of these Terms.
Google. “Google” means Google Inc., whose principal place of business is at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States. This document explains how the agreement is made up, and sets out some of the terms of that agreement.
