NREIS.. again.
Just got a call from them for a signing NOW... 1 hour away. They fee was a crazy high fee. I agreed but told him that I was nervous because of past payment issues. The man assured me that all issues have been resolved because they have been bought out by a great company... So, I told him that I accept but was going to check out a few notary websites first. Of course I came right to SC and saw that they are still having issues. I understand that they are paying but very late. I am so afraid that they will just start not paying therefor I decided that it wasn't worth it. I do not want to waste my gas, time, toner and everything else. Now I am doubting that decision a bit, even if late, the money would have been nice.
What is everyone else doing regarding them?

If it were me, I would not take this closing. I learned a long time ago to trust the ratings and reviews in SC, and I also learned the hard way that those last minute, emergency closings are always a total PITA and the hardest to collect on. Now, I just say no.

Been turning 'em down since late last year but took one in mid-July because he said 'all the issues have been resolved and we're paying at 40-45 days'. SC had a couple of then-current 2-3 stars, so... I took ONE. Just today got the check, but had to call several times. Not doing any more; don't care what they say. Think you did right. Seems they're still circling the bowl.
Word of advice: call 'em like you see 'em and never second-guess your decision...just move on.

Often the very magnitude of the fee...
...is a reason to put you back at the very end of the line for payment. And occasionally, you'll run across the refusal to pay on the grounds that the company just doesn't pay fees that large.

Re: Often the very magnitude of the fee...
I was trying to collect from them for a closing back from May. When I started inquiring I said gee how about looking into this one too..That was done June 15. I got paid for both of them at the end of June..I was shocked.
I have not and will not accept anymore from them. Just too risky and not worth the hassle..

Just a thought...due to recent posts
high fee or magnitude of same, given NotarySigners recent post on the same topic, is subjective.

Keeping in mind many companies will promise you anything to get the loans signed on EOM day, or any day for that matter. Promises are free...

Hate to be facetious here, but Working for less than your expenses, and working for people who do not pay you is NOT the formula for running a succesful business. There are customers that any business just don't want. Identify them and never work for them.

No..."something" is not always better than "nothing"
especially is that "something" forces you to take a loss and end up paying *into* the job you're doing for them. If the job does not make you a profit, then IMO it's NOT better than nothing.
It's this "something is better than nothing" attitude that has killed the fees we so rightly deserve.

Yes, NREIS was purchased by LSI. They are supposed to be improving their payments, but as of yet at least with me running 120 days which is not acceptable. I started dinging them another 10-15 dollars per signing. I told them that it is due to late payments. When they get back to the 30 day column I would adjust my fee. LSI pays usually with in 15-30 days consistently. (My experience) and since they are the parent company now I would expect them to do the same at NREIS but it has been months and they have yet to get it right. I get a lot of calls from them, so in my area many must have stopped taking their assignments. LSI though has been working hard at dropping rates to NSA's while raising their fees to Title. Go figure. Must be their expenses have gone up and ours have gone down. Thank God for OBAMAMICS where would we be without it?

This does not belong here. It belongs in Just Politics.
But you knew that, didn't you? Like the other conservatives who insist upon posting partisan polemics here, you do not believe that the rules apply to you.
Has anyone ever seen a progressive DELIBERATELY post anything politically partisan here or in Leisure? No? Didn't think so; it's only the conservatives who think they can post such messages here.
