Not paid
Did any of you not get paid because you forgot to leave copies of docs?
What happened was that once I got back I realized I forgot to give them their copies. Then I received a call to go back to get a new package signed. I thought it was because they were not happy with their first payment date. I figured because I had to go back to sign another package I could then give them their copies. But, then docs didn't come in for the second meeting. So, I don't know if they sent someone else or just changed something within the first documents. I spoke to the title closer he told me that it would not go against me. That he wasn't sure what happened. Now I received my check for other closings minus this one. Not even a printing and trip fee.
Has this happened to any of you?

Ali my dear, thats just being carless...but you'll learn... Years ago when i first started i drove 85 miles one way to do a closing when i got back my brain started kicking my head telling me that i had forgotten something. Most of you know what i mean.! Any way pulled to the side and reviewed my docs and the borrowers DID NOT SIGN THE DEED!.. I wanted to cry but made a U-Turn and drove back 85 miles to get that signature. Wow! We all make mistake and must learn or quit.

No. But consider if the borrower wanted to resend just how would they do that? Not leaving the borrowers their copies (Reg Z- TIL- RTC etc) is a pretty big deal as far as the lender is concerned. But easily fixed by you, by just taking them their copy. How did Title even find out about it? Did YOU tell them? DID the borrowers? All the other things you mentioned are superfluous in my estimation. Sounds to me like they just got someone else to re-do the signing. I wouldn't hold my breath 'till they call you again. JMO

WHY would there be a re-signing if the BO did not get their
copies at closing? Is it because of the NRTC? Or some other document they absolutely needed in their hands?
Back in the day, they weren't given ANY copies, maybe the HUD, if they were lucky....
Am I missing something here? (albeit I've started off this week....weird)

Sounds like they messed up the docs and had to have resigned. Probably found a cheaper notary to do 2nd signing. Just by not leaving copies would not warrant a whole new package signing, (I understand borrowers need copies in case they want to cancel) but most likely the borrowers have a computer and it would be very simple to email them the docs, or fed ex to them for next morning delivery, it would cost less than vehicle expense for long distances.
I have had borrowers complain because of the amount of paper being used. I have had a few suggestions to put the copies on disc or to email the docs for their records, of course the LC or TC want it printed out (apparently they have not gone green),
I would call the company and ask why you have not been paid yet.

RTC ???
If the borrowers were not given their copies of RTC by midnight, day of signing, I believe it's a redraw.

Re: RTC ???
I forgot to leave the copies a couple of years ago, after an excruciating closing. When I got home I noticed I had completely forgotten. I immediately called the hiring company and the borrower - hiring company (can't remember if it was a SS or TC) said no big deal they would email the package to the borrower - borrower said they didn't realize they were supposed to receive any paperwork. I received pay for full closing. I'm sure different companies have different polices, but if I hadn't have called them they would have never known I didn't leave copies. But because of the one incident I always lay their copies out first on the table to the side.

Tell the BO you have a complete copy of the documents for them, but keep it out of reach. This allows you and the borrowers to concentrate on the package to be signed and notarized. I've had borrowers reach across the table for their copy and start going through it while I am trying to get signatures. I just stop and let them know if the two packages get mixed up their loan may not go through. "Let's put the copy aside for now and you can review it later." I give them their copy as I am making my final quality review at the table. Seems to work for me. JMO
