Question for ServiceLink (ATM) Notaries
ServiceLink, sometime back, acquired ATM, who did the same thing that S/L does. Someone in the organization decided that the ATM model was lovely, so they are swinging the entire company toward the way ATM now does/did things. The confirmations are on 14" paper and they pay automatically shortly after each closing - no monthly billings (that's okay).
They are going away from the AlphaTrust method of sending docs because I found out that the fee AlphaTrust charges S/L is $20 per loan package. In order to save even more money, they want to start sending the docs with two emails and ever-changing user names and passwords (for better "security"). More hassle.
Here's the question (finally): After logging in, I get the listing of docs and click on the loan package highlighted in blue and I get a new page with a red "X". The loan package won't open. Their explanation is that my Adobe Acrobat 9 and my Adobe Reader 9 are "too new" and that they only use Acrobat 7. Of course, Adobe does not build their products that way - they always "look back" for older version compatibility. S/L people don't understand that. I called their techies and all they want to do is refer you to Vendor Management (who never calls you back).
Is anyone else having the same problem with ServiceLink (ATM) document packages?

I don't work for them, but boy, oh, boy, does this ever sound like TRG's method.

I just had a closing for them last night and needed to open two e mails with the passwords to print docs. Mine printed out just fine. I probably have the older version of Acrobat and maybe that is why it worked. Sorry you can't print yours.

I did one last night too for ATM/ServiceLink and all was well. I printed the docs from the Gemstone website (even though it was not a e-signing) and the escrow docs came in a seperate e-mail. All was well and I have Adobe X.

Thanks for the information. Possibly it is something in my computer that doesn't like what it's seeing. I will have to search around in my virus protection or malware protection to see if they may be the possible problem.
