Service Link

I just received my August check from Service Link. It was short 2 closings. When I called, I was told that there are now two billing procedures. I have a vendor number for Service Link and National Link and another for the old ATM Settlement accounts (ATM was acquired by Service Link). The Service Link and National Link order numbers begin with the number 2 and must be billed at the end of the month by mailing in the invoice. However, invoices beginning with the number 1 (the old ATM Settlement accounts) are to closed out on-line and there is no need to mail in an invoice. Maybe this was discussed previously on this forum. If so, I missed it. Hope this helps.

That's not exactlly what I was told, but it's close.

I was told the accounts starting with 2 must be invoiced monthly and they are from ServiceLink. The accounts starting in 1 must be statused online and are from NationalLink.

They could have changed things...again.

Can someone clear up this confusion?

I don't know about the number system, but I do know that any closing that comes from the FNF branch (ServiceLinkFNF), pays when the loan funds. No invoice needed, but does need to be closed out online. Hope that helps

Probably not the best system, but I separate the two by zip code. 15001 I bill at the end of the month (FNF), 15008 pays when loan funds.

They have to be desparate to call me; I wont lower my fee

So I rarely get a call from them but I invoice everything monthly under the new system for Service/National Link. I've always been paid correctly. Sorry you have to go through this.

Diann you are absolutely correct in your information. In addition to what you said, I would like to add that wee all need to make sure we send in a separate invoice for Service Link, a separate invoice for Nationl Link, and a separate invoice for Power Link. Vendor Maintenance will provide us with the correct invoices. The Service Link and National Link invoices can be sent together to the Rauser Road address and the Power Link invoice has to be sent to their address. The loans that start with 1 that we automatically get paid for without invoicing, are easy to tell because the confirmation page initially sent to us by the scheduler is a different looking format than the other ones. Also, I was told that if you are a Tier 2 with Service Link, you can bill twice a month. Not sure how you reach Tier 2 status (they explained that it is if your pricing is competitive and you take a lot of loans with them). Hope this information helps.

Re: That sounds like one big headache....what a shame

I was thinking the same thing BossLady. I've never worked for them, probably because they couldn't meet my fee. But, I also won't work for a company that makes me "work" for my payment and keeping track of which part of the company requires what is too much work.

Can you just imagine what the people who clean their toilets must go through?

That's ridiculous, I wouldn't go through that hassle if they paid my fees!

It's not that difficult. Read the confirmations.

I kind of like getting that big check at the end of the month right before the bills are due.

They only pay low fees if you let them. I get a lot of work from them and when they asked me to lower my fees, I sent them an email politely declining their offer and they still call me. Everyone's trying to save a dollar here and there, can't blame em for trying!

Invoicing in just part of running a business, I won't NOT work for someone just because they want an invoice.

Re: It's not that difficult. Read the confirmations.

If you were addressing my post, I was commenting on Pegt and Doris post (hassles) not invoicing itself but then again, most of the companies I work for just automatically send a check once the loan closes.
What I won't do is Fax backs or sign work agreements....you can quote me on that.

Just a general comment, James.

I do 10-12 a month for Servicelink, $100 and up. Their system is a PITA, but so are late docs, late borrowers, readers, DLs that expired in 1996 ( had one tonight), 15 pages of instructions, etc.. Everything that goes with the biz.

Re: Just a general comment, James.

Understood! 10 -12 a month is a "gravy train". I was thinking more like 1 -2 every three months, I think either Les or Lee hit on that particular issue in which I agree. 10 -12 a month is "steady" work!

Thanks for the genuine reply.!

As I said in an earlier post I think their invoicing is BS. But I did get a check today for a closing I did 8-2-2011 in and for the amount agreed upon (xxx.xx) not $55.00. My standard invoicing agreement states 30 days net. Now If I happened to get 10 orders a month from them there rigmarole could be worth it, but for 1-2 orders only when they can’t find a cheaper notary? Next time I may just say no. But that’s just me. They do pay, and will meet your fee (if they must). It’s your business you decide. I can’t say anything bad about them, except I don’t care for their invoicing system.
If they paid a little more (without a struggle) and a little quicker they would be a 5 star company. JMO

THEY WILL NEVER BE A FIVE STAR COMPANY, THE WAY THEY DO BUSINESS.
