Thank you Notary Rotary!
I received a call from Genuine Title today. I originally accepted the signing and when I got the paperwork over I realized the name sounded familiar,Konstantin Safir. (Safir Signings) I tried to call the client right away and got a disconnected number. When I went to look at the 1003 on the attachment to see if the number was right or there was another number it was completely blank except for the address. I went through all the paperwork and here it is an application for mortgage that needed to be filled out. Not passing my smell test... I know as a loan officer you don't get paid on any type of application fee till the mortgage is completed. (RESPA) 2nd why didn't he take the application by phone or fed ex docs. Why pay me so much to run out and take an application. So, I looked up the address. The address they wanted me to go to does not exist. Last name on the application was of course "Smith" I then went on here and realized why this name sounded so familiar. NON PAYMENT all over the place....I emailed Shannan back and advised her that I would not be taking the signing. How could these people still be in business is beyond my comprehension.

Good for you! Don't forget to code that number in your caller ID as a no-no company. When they call again (and they will) you can just send it to voice mail and not hassle with answering.

I have a whole bunch in my phone that are coded as no-no's! Makes it so much easier when they call again... it streamlines the process of declining the job!

They and others like them stay in business, because many do not read here, and it saves them a LOT of money not paying what they owe. But as Hugh mentioned one mustn’t call them liars, thieves, or deadbeats! One could be sued for tarnishing their reputation. Maybe ethically challenged? Or very forgetful when payment time comes? My opinion is you just saved yourself a lot of wasted time.

Well the whole thing looked really odd... It's like he had an address and phone number and wanted me to do his work for him as a loan officer. He wanted me to collect copies of driver's license, social security cards, (which I would never do) home owners, mortgage note, HUD statement... I might as well do the loan myself, haha.. Plus the fact that the address does not exist and the telephone does not work.... You can't take an application for a mortgage that doesn't exist... just plain illegal...
