Those robo signers, ol' robo signers...

...They just keep scribbling, they keep on screwing us all
You and I, we sweat and strain
Pensions zapped and accounts all drained
But robo signers, the banks and crooks
They cook the books to set their hooks
And they just keep scribbling, they keep on screwing us all.

incredible.
The statement, in that article, that stood out to me was: Companies that process mortgages said that they were so overwhelmed with paper work that they cut corners.
Wow!!!!!
You're right, Hugh, they're screwing us all

Now, when I'm "overwhemed with paperwork," I get help.

When manufacturing gets "overwhelmed" with work orders, it hires.

The greed factor has overwhelmed the Lending Industry, and this is the perfect example. Break the law, knowing you're doing it, but justifying the criminality with the lamest of excuses: doing good business cost us profits, so we ~had~ to "cut corners."

These "corners" ended up being peoples' lives that caused national economic catastrophy as well as global negative impacts.

That the criminals can now just "announce" they'll start obeying laws just gets my goat.
