U S BANK
Does anyone happen to have a number for U.S. Bank where you can actually talk to a person? A friend of mine has a loan with them and she had hail damage to her roof. The insurance company issued a check to her and U.S. Bank since they carry her mortgage. Every number she has tried doesn't work. She said it's either a fax or doesn't work. I told her I'd try this method. I told her if all else failed, to send a fax. She needs them to sign off on the check so she can get her roof fixed. All help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Is there a customer service number on the bottom of her mortgage coupon? I am thinking that surely there must be a CS number on their website.

Our ins co did the same thing to me. The check was made out to us and our bank. I just took it in to a branch and they did what they needed to do in their system and I deposited it. Just tell them to go into any US Bank branch. They will take care of it. I don't think calling anyone is going to help, they need to go in personally.

Look at their website. They are based in Minnesota, I have a loan with them. They recently opened a branch in Santa Barbara.

The problem is the nearest branch I think is like 200 miles away one way. I did call a number I found today which is one she had. The first time I called it, it said it was no longer in use, which was what she had encountered. The next time I got a recording- very strange. I told her to keep trying on Monday. I may have her give me her mortgage # and I'll see what I can do. She doesn't have a job that she can be on the phone. I can understand her frustration. She had her loan with a local bank- an example of what happens when loans get sold off! A real pain in the neck. I told her my biggest fear is if she mails it to someone, that it will get mixed up as a payment, and she may pay heck getting it back to get her roof fixed.

Maybe she should just call that branch that's 200 miles away, bite the bullet and go down there. I agreee with your fear. Then it's all the more difficult to get it back!
Alternatively, maybe she could call the insurance company and see if they'll reissue the check in her name only. Hopefully she has an agent who could help her out.

Unless the house was totaled from the damage I'm curious
why the ins. co. issued the check to her AND the bank.
Here's a thought - try contacting the insurance company/agent? They may have contact information for the individual lenders they insure just for instances like this.
