unpaid fees
I am a notary in Massachusetts and I am owed some Notary fees from Pacific Docs in Ca., would anyone happen to know if the Ca. State Attorneys Office would be where I would seek help, or the BBB in Santa Ana? I realize that I am not the first person to have a problem with this company(and prob. not the last) it is not a large sum but it is due. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and I assure you that you need not mention how STUPID I was.

1. I gather from the tenor of you message that you were aware of the company's reputation BEFORE accepting the Pacific Docs assignment. That being the case, I'm inclined to believe that you got not only what was to be expected, but what you deserved.
2. The attorney general of a state does not exist to provide collection services to businesses. An AG will assist only if fraud is involved, which I believe may be the case with Pacific Docs but which would be so difficult to prove and the returns so slight that the odds are infinitessimal that any AG would be interested in pursuing it.
3. As requested, I have resisted any inclination to call you STUPID.

Contact TC or Lender provided you still have this infor?
Then start sending out collection letters and add a collection fee to the outstanding balance each month.

If you work for companies such at Pacific Docs, you need to have a good collection letter in your arsenal...because you will certainly need it. Fax him a collection letter and snail mail it also. Give him a deadline to pay you...then if you don't receive your funds, take action.

Unpaid MA Notary for ? loan signings ?
"I am a notary in Massachusetts and I am owed some Notary fees from Pacific Docs in Ca..."
If you performed only services as a "notary public" within the fee allowed by MA law and NO signing agent services, your loss should be small and sadly, may be noncollectable. As stated before, have a good collection letter. Perhaps a local MA attorney that you work with will share some insight and collection language to help you collect.
If you worked as a "signing agent" for loan documents in MA and are not an attorney, you may not find a MA attorney or any MA agency that will help you. Obviously, REBA (Real Estate Bar of Massachusetts, see their website) will be of no assistance.

I am also a Notary in MA and Paul Gambs owes me money. Yeah, I know: I read all the warnings too but he did pay me for all my work except this last amount. I went through my docs and called the lender. One loan officer was very helpful but I've received nothing yet. I'll keep you posted.

I also am owed $. Since March. I even got the title companies involved and send them weekly updates on non payment. I did file at BBB in CA to have him not respond. I also want to file in MA for small claims and obtain a judgement then I have it on record should he EVER decide to short pay.

Read SC - I believe he's out of business
and BK is contemplated ... no personal experience here, just what I read.
If this is for loan signing work I'd love to see how any judge will look on rendering judgment in your favor for something you did illegally. It is illegal in MA for notaries to conduct real estate closings - they are to be conducted by attorneys.
