wheelchair
Has anyone ever been able to work as a signing agent from a wheelchair?

I believe that would be very difficult. I myself use a cane due to arthritis and I know many homes I arrive at are difficult with the stairs, but I manage okay. Don't see being able to continue if I end up in a wheelchair.

There is a young girl in our town that has been in a wheelchair since birth (well almost). She came to me one day asking for a job at my convenience store. I didn't know what to do as she couldn't reach the counters and there was 1 step from cashier area to the floor. She said "let me show you". Holy cow. What an amazing young girl. She would hop from her chair to the stool I had behind the counter and then hop back and roll up and down that step to the coffee, soda areas and hop on the counter and do what needed to be done. She could do everything the other employees could do except wash the coffee pots and that was only because her chair didn't fit in our back room where the sink was. She even mopped the floors. She even drove and when I saw her the first time pull up, swing her arm around the back seat, open the door, pull the chair out with one arm, hop in the chair and close the doors, I just stood there in awe. Reverse it all and she's back in the drivers seat using hand controls. I wish I had 10 employees like her. She accomplished more in her shifts than any other employee. This amazing young woman went on to play wheelchair basketball for the US Special Olympics and they won the Gold. She's that amazing. Pat, I realize that you or I would not be able to do what she could do as she was a young 18yr old, but unless you are very limber and can get in and out without help, I don't see that's it possible. Every home has at least 1 step into the house, some have 10. I know I wouldn't be able to do it without help and we certainly can't expect the borrowers to help us.

Living in an urban area, I frequently have to climb 3 or 4 flights of stairs to get to the signer's condo. Usually at least a few stairs to even get into a signer's single family home. NSA would have to limit signings to locations in handicap accessable business locations.

Pat~ instead of going to the signer's location,
can you establish your own office (that is wheelchair friendly) and the signers can come to you? I'm just saying . . .

Re: Pat~ instead of going to the signer's location,
I was thinking along those lines. Or maybe a van with an office set up where they could just come out their front door and sign? As a borrower, I'd have no issue with that.
