Applications for signing services

filling out apps for SS's, and some are asking for me to send in copy of my notary stamp-X'd out, my drivers license copy, etc. I've read before, that this is not a good practice-and nobody should ever do this...you're take on this?

They get my W-9, my E&O, and a copy of my State Cert., and the fact that I have been checked out by the
State of California and the FBI.

So far, that has always been enough. If it is not, then I will find work elsewhere and they loosel

Re: What the heck is above about??

It's about the obscene private messages I have been receiving from John Tennant since I asked a question about whether a post from Tony Negrete was advertising. Apparently Tennant took offense at this for some reason.

UKCowboy's vulgar, degrading telephone call to me.

Thanks to everyone else for your advice...this is for AltiSource--anyone work for them? They want about 14 pages of information, which I thought was a bit ridiculous.

Re: Applications for signing services - altisource

Altisource does ask for alot of information and I do not see them listed here on signing central. Is it worth filling all this out for the fees they pay? They state that they want a copy of your drivers license "to stop fraud"?

Info taken from the American Society of Notaries
link provides information regarding the requests from signing companies,
paragraph 3 explains further regarding the seal impression/stamp.

Re: speaking of which...

I did a signing today for Prospect Mortgage which had a form that requested a copy of the NOTARY's ID. I think that's been mentioned here before, but it was the first time I'd seen that. It's moments like those when I'm glad I live in CA, where not just anyone can order a notary stamp.

I made a copy of my notary certificate, filled in the form with my name and address (which they shouldn't need, either, but it's easy enough for them to find anyway), and advised which county my commission was filed in. If they need more than that, they can contact the SOS - which also has my photo on file. Thankfully, the client backed me up on this one.

Re: speaking of which...

I happily staple, with 2 staples, my business card in place of that other info, which, IMO, goes beyond my sensibilities.
