Biggest Volume Provider

Since the start of this year my client who had traditionally provided me the bulk of my business has decreased more and more each month. I have gone through this with them before and they assure me that it is cyclical and that by the summer they will be back in full swing and keeping me busy.

I am ashamed to admit, but because of this relationship I became a bit complacent and did not get myself out there as much as I should have.

I spent most of the weekend reading through signing central and learning about some other companies. There was a lot of great information.

That said I was hoping some of you would refer me to the companies that you have had favorable experiences with, as well as decent volume.

As you can tell by my name, I am located in Kansas and Missouri. I completely understand and appreciate the sense of competition, so I do not expect anyone to give up their client lists if you also do work in my states. I guess I am just looking for some referrals for other National Title/Notary companies that any of you have enjoyed working for.

I appreciate any and all feedback, thanks!

I completely understand your dilemma but you also have to understand that we have all paid our dues finding clients. You just need to go to SC and contact these people. It's highly improbable anyone is going to share their clients. I for one can't count the hours calling out of state title companies and cold calling the locals (12 years). Don't ever count on one client to feed you.

KSMONotary, you've done everything that we've done

You already went through signing central, try hitting up some local spots. Good luck!

I did the same thing this past weekend

Reviving my business and hit SC - I changed the sorting though and listed them by rating, highest to lowest...

Started from #1 and began working my way down - interspersed with contacting those companies that I had worked for previously that I knew were good...it's like starting all over again.

Think I sent notices out to about 15 companies - hope to do a few each night...just working my way through the 5, 4.5 and 4 star companies and keeping my fingers crossed. We shall see.

Good Luck.

Go into SC and just above the list of companies

You have the option to "Sort by" - drop down menue - you can sort by date, company name, rating etc..

If you email me, i will sure help you out some. I have noticed that most notaries will not. I am still new in the business, so I don't have a real high volume yet, But i sure can give u a list of different companies I have worked with, (and ones that pay pretty quick). My email is [e-mail address].

Why don't you just list them here and help us all out? That would be a cool thing to do, don't you agree?

"I am ashamed to admit, but because of this relationship I became a bit complacent and did not get myself out there as much as I should have."

KSMONotary: Yes, that tends to happen after being in the game for a while and having a steady stream from a good client. Good for you for trying to enact preventive measures at this stage tho.

Linda_H/FL: Great approach; wishing you many new business streams in return for your well thought out efforts.

Um, how many friends and family do you have in NJ?

tee hee Also, if you would add a link to your profile, it may get you a little more credibility. I have no way of even knowing you have a legitimate profile and are a real business.

Thanks so much.

Re: Um, how many friends and family do you have in NJ?

I am in Pennsylvania, with no friends in any other state, I will gladly give her a few of my company names. I was in her boat a couple weeks ago, asking for advice, found out that don't go over to well. Although i Received a few emails, which landed me 2 new jobs in the past week. Both title companies as well. I always like the saying, what goes around comes around, People helped me out, my turn to return the favor!! And she asked really politely, and maybe I am a "dam fool", but i get ok business, and she is not my competition. Her state isn't even near mine. And what does add link to profile mean? I have been registered on this site for a while, just started using forums not long ago tho.

Something lots of people don't get re: sharing leads

"She is not my competition"

But she is certainly someone ELSE's competition, including people who are regulars on this board! What some here don't get is that every time you help out a newbie (or anyone with the moxie to ask) by sending them a contact or lead, you risk undercutting another one of your peers here. That could be a person who has made major contributions to this board and may be much more deserving of your inside info or lead.

I'm sure info like that gets shared here all the time, but I suspect - or hope - that most of it is as a result of friendships developed over time and is support that is earned. Also, I recommend you respect your clients by being careful to only refer to them notaries who you know will be competent and up to whatever standards they've established.

Think about it, folks...

"I'm sure info like that gets shared here all the time,"

It certain does - by all of us - in signing central AND in forum postings..all readily available for those with the ambition to click over to there or clicj "search", type a few words and start reading. Not to say the OP hasn't done this, as they stated they did - but far too many don't...
