Equifax Settlement, Coraopolis, PA

Just had a call from Equifax, 678-795-7000, for a signing next Monday. Haven't worked with them since 2010. Then, they paid $150-$200 for regular refi and paid within 2 weeks.

Noticed there's been some recent negative posting for them -- as recent as February. Asking my usual questions of caller, seems they now require fax-backs of critical docs. They now require status update on their website. For those experiencing late/no payment, did you update status on their website upon completion of signing? Just wondering if that's a reason or an excuse.

Upon googling phone number, seems that phone number is tied to Equifax (you know ... the credit bureau), 1100 Abernathy Rd NE Ste 300, Atlanta, GA 30328.

If you're still having problems getting paid, you may want to contact them at the Atlanta address above. (collection letter to a credit bureau ... hmmmmmmmm ... isn't that special? Wink )

Run Forest Run. They don't Respond to emails, they don't answer phone calls, they even had their answering machine fill up so you can't leave a message. I had an assignment from them. they never sent docs and all of the above happened to me. They called me after the time and asked if I had finished.... LOL I asked if the got my 3 emails, or my two messages on their machine. I would have left another but it was full. They just plain SUCK

I did a closing for them on 3/5 and received by check on 3/15. I thought that was great, but I did to the closed report in their website. I don't recall any fax backs, but I may have. Their closiing instructions are specific to the closing. It depends on the lender.

I have another closing scheduled with them on Friday. Good luck.

I agree, I think it's lender specific as to how it goes. I haven't done anything for them lately because they won't meet my fees.

Last time they called me, they called me 2 hours before an appointment time for a location 90 minutes away from where I was at. The driving time isn't unusual for me, but I require a minimum 4 hours notice or I charge extra (for a variety of reasons), but they only could go as high as $125.00. The really couldn't understand why I would refuse to drive a total of three hours on short notice for that "generous" amount. No joke, the scheduler said it was generous on their part to offer $125.00.

My guess is they won't be calling me again unless they're super desperate. Smile

I did a closing for them 20 min. away fee $125 on 2/25. I talked to them yesterday to ask about payment they were helpful and gave me the following accounting email, [e-mail address]. I also closed for them in January and was paid about 5 weeks later.

I saw on some of the commnets for this company, "no hand holding". I have no idea what the means, but if it means they have a full answering machine and won't answer calls before or during a singing to answer questions, then yes, that applies. I was asked to login after the signing but I have no login information. I emailed for this info but have had no response. They say confirmation of closing has to be done within 8 hours, but that isn't going to happen because they are closed and their "emergency" number goes to voicemail with no room to leave a voice mail at all. I guess I just have to wait until tomorrow to confirm closing. Why would they schedule closings late in the day knowing no one will be in the office to answer questions and such? They mey my $120 fee easily, but I have doubts about whether or not I will be paid. I sure hope so. Things have been really slow lately.

I had doubts as to whether I was going to be paid or not, but they paid in 12 days. I am more familiar with all the docs now and need to call in less with questions. With that, I hope they call again soon.
