Read SC for First American Signing?Signature?Services (one of those) and you'll see that they are low pay and drop you the second they find someone still cheaper. They do pay timely.

They meet my fee, or I just decline the job. They pay timely and with no hassle. As previously stated they will drop you like a hot potato when they find someone cheaper so don't be fooled by the 'You're my go to person, we will give you a lot of business if you just lower your fees". Their packages are usually rather large, 150 pages and up, so keep that in mind when deciding on your fee.

Even my local FATCO offices won't use them, frought with logistic errors, and they are not reliable. They do not build loyalty with the notary community, hence, they end up wih novice notaries who cannot properly serve borrowers in the signing of their loan docs.
I haven't worked for them in three years.

I appreciate the replies...being a Novice Notary myself, I have taken the required courses and a 8hr signing agent course to help me understand what is required. I figure, everyone was a Novice Notary at one time and we will make mistakes-as everyone does. Thanks for the heads up guys!

Well said Beverly. I have been conducting signings since 2004 and I still make a mistake every once in awhile. If you are trying to break into the business, feel free to take the assignment and have your own experience with FASS. Your experience may differ from another notaries. Good Luck!

If you are chosen by them, I would suggest not framing your "white glove status" and hanging it on the wall. It is basically a designation of a signing agent who will do every thing asked for any price asked and be willing to take responsibility for all mistakes made, including those of the signing service.

If this is a lowballing company why are we keeping them in
biz?
See above!

I see no merit in working for this organization while being abused professionally and personally. There is no upside to this one way street. Last I heard, they pay $75 for lots of lots of work.

I do a lot of work for them. Never at $75.00. Package size varies with lender. Chase packages are around 100 pages. Some schedulers lowball. I just turn it down. If they have "weeks" to schedule they may shop. Again. Turn it down. I always ask where it is. They also can mapquest address on the spot. Helps me determine my fee acccurately.

I only work for them occasionally, when they will meet my fee (MIN. $150). Big packages, faxbaxes too, but if it fits my schedule and is close by, I do them, because they pay fast-about 7-10 days.
