I love my favorite SS
They call with an assignment, no talk about fees, they know my fees. I say OK send it over, no further contact. I print the docs and complete the signing, then go on their website and mark complete. A week later I get a check.
I wish all SS were like this one.

My three favorite SS, and two favorite TC's operate the same way… !

I have a couple of favorites too, but hesitate to put their names in a thread because I don't want them overwhelmed with email requests to sign up.

I agree….best just to rate them in Signing Central.

Good SSes
I know it is important to be polite, but sometimes I am in a siging and I just can't get chit-chatty with the SS. I like it when they say, "Hi, this is Bob at Notaries R Us. Can you do tomorrow at 1:00 in such-and-such city?" I like when they spill the whole thing in one sentance. Then I can say yes or no and get off the phone. I don't need to know that they will email me the confrimation, or to call the borrower, or fax back work order when done, or ANYTHING. I also don't like when they say, "How much do you charge for that?" I'm not going to say a number in front of a borrower. I say, "The same as last time". I know that's risky, but when I am siging, too bad.
Thank you to all the signing services that have been understanding when I have been brief with them when accepting a job.

Re: Good SSes
When they ask me my fee when I'm in a signing, I respond with: "What are you authorized to pay?" If it is a figure I can work with I say OK, email me the confirmation. If it entails negotiation, I get up from the table excusing myself and walk out of the room or else I just say no and get back to signing as quickly as possible.

I don't accept calls during signings so I am wondering how you gracefully take phone calls while in a signing?

I also do not take calls during signings.......the clients I'm with deserve my full attention

I say excuse me, I have to take this as it is the title company or family member who is on the road....and keep it very brief. I've never had a problem with it. They have my full attention except on that rare occasion.
