Job Opportunities!!! (#2)

Yes, I did respond to Janet and Jan. (See #417586).

If you have read all my posts, it states I am an independent contractor with them, and only that!!! I started out as a paralegal and just recently they notifyed thier paralegals that they are expanding to add jobs for notary and NSA work. It's as simple as that.

I wanted to let you in on their expansion opportunities, as I would hope others would do the same for me.

Lastly, they are running a contest for the most referrals. If that is reason for you not to question my motifs and not sign up with them, then so be it!

Thanks.

Karla, if you are going to use NotRot as a platform to enhance your chances of winning some benefit, especially from a company that is seeking contact with NSAs, you need to disclose that upfront.

Yes, I signed up, and yes, I referenced you. But I was entitled to know in advance the ramifications of that.

And, there goes your veracity. Sometimes, you talk too much and in so doing tell on yourself. Best just to say so from the onset.

Re: But ShoSho -

I was giving her the benefit of the doubt the first time. I even thought to myself "what is she getting out of it", but decided that I was wrong for thinking that way. My gut told me she was and darn if my gut wasn't right. You're right, its no biggie and it's my choice to sign up or not. I did. We'll see what comes of it.

Well, I just got an email from them. They want me to send

in a resume. (What's that) haha. Haven't done one of those for over 26 years. I've worked for hubby's family until I started signing loans 7 years ago. I don't mind giving them my experience in loan signings but before that is out of the question. They don't need to know the family company name or business and I refuse to give them that. We'll see how they respond.

Linda, if you have such grave misgivings...

...and such a distaste for what this company is doing, you really should just not pursue it. From what I have seen -- and I gather at this point that I've seen everything you have -- the company has earned neither enmity nor even suspicion. At least give them a chance to do something questionable before treating them as if they are criminal defendants.

Hugh, I am just merely stating that I don't feel it's

necessary for a resume. I've closed thousands of loans over 7 years and, like I said, I will gladly state my experience in doing just that. Anything beyond that, I'm not giving out. Period. It's not relevant in my line of work now. It would take me too long to put one together and frankly I don't even know how to do it in today's world. My son's resume is so different than any I have ever done for myself years ago and frankly just don't want to do it. I haven't responded to the email yet, but I will and I will ask them exactly what they are needing and wanting. I may be making a mountain out of a mole hill, never know, but we shall see. I'll keep you posted.

Re: Well, I just got an email from them. They want me to send

I agree. I am not looking to be their employee. Why would I need to send in a resume? I am an independent signing agent just wanting to be included in their vendor list.
My previous employment should not matter. What should matter is that I have a valid commission and experience to get the job done correctly.

Re: Well, I just got an email from them. They want me to send

I have no problems sending them my resume. I have matter of fact even though I think its odd since Im not gonna be an employee of theirs. But for all you people who dont want to send in a resume, thats great for me less competition because Im using my resume as a marketing tool. In proud of my background and the fact that less than 1% of notaries have the background I have.

Re: Well, I just got an email from them. They want me to send

I think whoever is running that company - or managing this expansion - has an employee mentality and isn't used to dealing with independent contractors. In that vein, I would choose to not take them so literally and instead of a resume - which I agree implies employment - I would send a bio, more appropriate to the business relationship most of us are familiar with.

I haven't yet decided if I'm going to apply, as I have plenty of other business promotion things to spend my time on, but I may see how things go for now.

Re: Lighten up! It's not a biggie!

It is not a biggie. She made a mistake. Several have noted that. Based on her previous postings, she will learn from it, and both she and the rest of the NotRot family will be the better for it.

Fortunately, I have never erred in posting to NotRot, so I've never had to learn that way.

To clarify, I DID wrestle (in my original post) with telling everyone about the contest. Then I decided not to talk about it because in my mind I thought that would be "cheesey." I wanted the main reason for the post to be about the opportunities. Boy did that backfire on me!!!

My bad.

Karla, I am going to have a wait and see attitude with www.nationalparalegalnetwork.com. If I am unhappy with their pay rate, I will not work for them. I don't think you did a bad thing about listing the job opportunity here... thanks for posting.

Lee~ I hear ya. I'm in the same mode as you - wait and see. I, too, will not work for them if their pay turns out to be less than. To be honest, I would be terribly surprised if it was.

Thanks for your support.

Enjoy the weekend!
