Notary Rotary Mobile App Neede

If notary rotary was to develop a mobile app, that included star rating of central signing, would you be willing to pay for it. Often when I'm on the road I get calls from companies regarding signing and while I don't want to turn business away I don't want bad business either. I figured that if the app gets me out of one bad signing then the app pays for itself.

Why not accept the job if it is not on your personal "NO NO" list and then check. If it is unacceptable to you when you check it asap, give it back. Others also mention something to the effect: If I check you out and you are a problem service, I will be giving it back to you. Do you have a bad record on NR? or something to that effect.

Work smart, not hard.

I think the app is a great idea. Right now, I have certain companies in my address back with "NO" in front of their name, so when the call come in, I already know that I don't want to work with them. However, I don't have all title and signing services in my address book. If I accept a job from someone I don't know, I'll look them up on SC as soon as possible, but that may be hours later on a busy day.
OTOH, I don't know what it would cost NR to develop that app, but it is where technology is leading us.

I agree that a mobile app would be good. However in that Notary Rotary doesn't have one, I printed the Signing Central list and keep it in my bag. It also can be shrunk where you print at about 60-70% of normal size so that it ends up being 7-8 pages.
It works out well when you get the calls from companies you don't normally do business with.

If you have a smart phone you should be able to access the website through your browser. I think Frank made the best suggestion to carry a printed list with you to refer to.

OH HECKIE YES! I'D PAY FOR IT! This app, which would

fit right in with today's cell phone technology and would be PERFECT for us!

It would also eliminate the PITA of rummaging around ones bag looking for a hard copy of the SC list!

Harry take note please!

Such a great idea Salvador!

I too would love a mobile app. I can access the site with my phone, but that's a lot more work then just going to an app. I usually take the jobs and then check NotRot, but it can be some time between the call and ability to check the website. That being said, if I'm driving I'd still have to pull over and look up the caller on any app and then call them back to cancel so I couldn't really "turn down" the job during the call unless they were somebody I knew not to deal with.

LOL...I predict that one will come to fruition before you

know it. No one has said, but I know the Wizard of Notary Oz. He's probably been perfecting behind the curtain.

A mobile app that includes a SC star rating sounds like a great idea, but sometimes the star rating isn't enough. I look for additional feedback utilizing the orange search button. I look at what is said and WHO said it. Some deadbeats will enlist shills to post in an attempt to raise their ratings <never works>. I dismiss the comments from posters who were "born yesterday". When a veteran poster gives feedback, that lends credibility to the high star rating or confirms the low star rating. If there's some way to tie the SC star rating with the orange search button - that would be ideal.

For now, to avoid working for free, review a companies record in SC and use the orange search button BEFORE docs are printed.
