Please advise--
How long after a loan signing can one assume that all went well and the process was a success? Ive completed a few and so far it seems that "no news is good news" from the signing service, but curious how others gauge this.

Reba - If it is a refi, it would be within the recission period, with others (purchase or second home) it would be almost immediately. I admit that I have made a few errors and, yes, there were a couple of times that they were caught sometimes 10 days later. I always ask to see a copy of the error to be sure that it was, in fact, my error. And, I always keep the signings "open" on my computer until I have been paid. Then I delete them. Hope this helps.

Patti I agree with you, I breath a sigh of relief when the check comes in. Mostly because I don't know if the SS will be paying on time or have a "gllitch" in getting my check out to me.
Most places will call you as soon as they spot the problem, so as said earlier sometimes "no news is good news"

If it turns out the person who signed the documents was an imposter, this will be discovered when the imposter does not make any payments on the loan, the bank forecloses, and the sheriff shows up to either post a foreclosure notice on the door of the property or evict the innocent owner. If the owner does not occupy the property, it could be a number of years before the problem is discovered.

I usually breathe easier if I haven't heard back within a day or two after the docs have been received on the other end.
But, as the other posters said, it may take longer ...
