Printing Docs
I don’t often vent here, but I’m pi$$ed! Just (happily) got the docs for my closing this evening. Downloaded to desktop, and hit ‘print’….looked at the printed docs…all the lender docs, (not the title docs) are reduced to letter and not only unreadable, but in this county, not recordable. Call title…they print off and try and enlarge to all legal, and email to me. I re-print…resulting in pages of all legal real crap with about a 5 font, and big margins which someone may be able to read with magnification and some not. I call title and say call the lender and tell the moron there to re-scan in the docs in properly/wake up, and do this simple, but critical part of their job correctly! Title doesn’t want to offend the lender, so they say just run with it and hope for the best. I have 5 printers. 3 all in one fax/scan/copy, 2 laser duel tray, one laser color, 2 HP duel tray, laser B&W. I have full adobe on my computers, and I have to take this crap to present to the borrower? I can probably re-do and re-size, and re-print these docs, (take the image, crop it, hit print to size on each doc) but by now I hope they come back, and have to be reprinted, and resigned, and the twit at the lender gets canned.

He'll just say "it's the notarys fault".

Get 'run with it' in writing because you KNOW who is going to get blamed for this. Nor would I mess around with 'trying' to get them to look right. I do my job. They do theirs--or not~~

I totally concur with Lee......get in writing because as we know, when/if it's not accepted, it will more than likely said to by the notary's error.
I don't want to see you get your name mixed up in that mess.

Well I ‘went with it’ called the borrowers to reconfirm (now that I had docs) they said “we’re home now could you come early?” (Be still my heart!!!) “ Yes! I’ll be there in 20 minutes.” Nice people the Mrs. a Realtor, knew the drill. I didn’t have time to peruse all the docs as I was concerned with the much reduced lender stuff…so presented them as they were sent, some upside down, some duplicates (seven copies of appraisal confirmation), just sloppy stuff. Some (mostly junk) docs Mr.’s name only some docs both Mr. and Mrs. name. Credit only Mr.’s name. But only one 1003 in Mr.’s name only (Both Mr. and Mrs. on the DOT…and the Note,) CO is not community property, but DOT is usually signed by NBS because of homestead exemption. I consider revising and having her sign too…but no! Not my job! If Mr. only on the loan app (taken months ago) is what they want, that is what they get. We shall see I think it will fly as long as the recorder isn’t paying attention. Sorry about my Freudian slip about my “dual” tray printers. I was thinking about a “duel” with the lender person that scanned in the docs, and me….Them with a slingshot, and me with a 45/70 cal repeating rifle, at twenty paces. I wish…JMO!

We've all seen screwups, but the one you just described takes first place. Wow...just wow.

Just for future reference - and because of that type of maddening experience - I've gotten into the habit of doing a quick scroll through the docs (on-screen) before hitting print. It's probably saved me a significant amount of toner and paper, to say nothing of my stress level.
