Question for Harry NR

Can you please explain to everyone again, WHY you feel it is necessary to hide companies information from us? Why can we only see the companies that do business in our area? Just yesterday Hugh posted that he could not see a company that called him for a signing when he was logged in. (Correct me if I'm wrong Hugh) He could only see them logged out. Obviously they DO do business in his area and he wasn't able to see them. This just makes NO sense to me. How can you possibly keep up with every company when they expand their areas? You can't. You want US to let you know. Like that's going to happen. I get so frustrated with this and feel it can potentially hurt us more than it will ever help us. We need to see that information immediately, not wait for you to add it. Please consider changing this. Thanks

That's one of my pet peeves too

With more and more title companies and especially signing services going nationwide, I can see no valid reason for this. What am I missing?

Agree totally...happens too frequently to me, however

IF everyone who inputs a new company would just 'add all states', even if they think that's not true at the moment, I think that would solve the problem, too. I'm in what can be considered a 'vacation area' and so often do but one for a company because the B is here vacationing and the PIQ is in their home state--and so is the TC. On those, I'm flying blind when I accept an order and would really love seeing every company out there.

Besides which, seeing every company all the time would make less work for Harry & co., eh?

I didnt know that is how it worked on this site. I must have missed that memo but then that explains why some companies I cant find in signing central and when I try to input their information it states they are already in the system.

I think that is in place to protect the cos. from being

solicited from states they don't do business in.
It's a total PIA, and I also agree that the whole list should be available to all.

If I'm understanding this thread correctly, this just happened to me.

I received a call from Equifax Settlement Services, whom I've never worked for before. I went to NotRot and found them in Signing Central, and it showed a 3 star rating. In order to see the comments, I logged in, and then - I couldn't find Equifax.

NO, I wouldn't take a signing from a 3 star (or 3.5) company even if I knew what the particulars were. I only work with 4 and 5 star companies.

Brass, I haven't noticed you hanging around here, so I deduce you are fairly new. I gather from the tenor of your response that you think we have been slighted somehow by Harry and the NotRot crew.

First, you need to be aware that Harry and his minions don't even necessarily know of this discussion. They do not monitor the board at all times. If you really want to make sure they are aware of your concerns, you should contact them directly via the "contact" button.

Second, Harry is quite responsive to our needs, and in fact sometimes provides us things that we didn't even know we needed before he offered them. Most of what he offers is free of charge. If he has not done something you think should be done, it is not because of suspect motives. There will be a legitimate reason for it. Or he simply did not know it was a problem.

If I have misinterpreted the intent of your comment, I apologize. Otherwise, I suggest you take a moment and figuratively place Harry in the Pantheon of Good Guys, with such as Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, St. Francis of Assissi, Mother Teresa, and my bookie, who deserves to be there because he is most tolerant of my tab.
