SC saved me!
I get a call a little while ago for a closing tomorrow..Boy did the scheduler sound so nice and perky and offered a nice fee..I accepted..Until I checked SC..2 stars with comments on chasing payment...
I declined and explained why I declined..Thank You everyone for keeping SC updated!

I cannot tell you how many times I have been saved by SC. I usually get calls while on the road. Although I have a smartphone it may be a few minutes up to an hour before I can get to a place where I can stop and check SC. I have turned back a few and glad to do so. Even if the company is not listed in SC I usually do a search and can come up with a few comments off Notary Talk. Invaluable!!! Premier Membership is one of the most valuable things I pay for in my notary business.

I totally agree with both of you! SC saved me last week from doing a reverse mortgage with a company notorious for not paying signing agents. Thank you!

What I do is save their number in your phone, and first name, put in the company name, then on the last name slot, put in a comment for yourself like "no pay" 2- stars, slow pay" so when your caller ID comes on, you already know you will not work for them, and maybe do not answer, or just tell them straight up, you don't pay. Saves a lot of time.

Thanks for a great idea ! So far, my smart phone has been smarter than me, but I'm gonna catch up with stuff like this.

This is What I Ususally Say...
When I am called by a service or title company I am not familiar with and I am on the road..I simply ask them what type of feedback I'm going to find. I'm not shy about it. If they tell me they don't know..which they probably do anyhow, I disclaim to them that if I find enough unfavorable feedback, I will return the assignment. I assure them that I will check, so no surprises. It has always worked for me.
