Saw the "No Other Acknowledgements Accepted" notation today
This was a GNW appointment for a document related to a federal program. It was interesting to note that on both pages for the notarizations, it said in big, bold letters, "No Other Acknowledgements Accepted."
Of course, the wording was all wrong for California, and even if it were right, they left a one-inch square of space for a seal. (insert rolling eyes guy here)
I tell you... the forms designed by the Feds are the WORST when it comes to notarizations.
I happily stapled a loose form.

I come across forms from various State of California agencies all the time that don't have the proper verbiage - not even the verbiage that was prior to the 2008 change. It looks like each agency justs writes down what they think sounds "legal" and they stick with that through the years. sigh...........

Marian!
Thank goodness I'm not the only one who has seen it and laughed silently to myself. I had three of those over the weekend. I knew I was not wrong, but just to satisfy myself that they wouldn't (not that they could legally, anyway) reject the document on those basis, I called this agency. He said, in his beautiful southern accent, of course we won't reject the document, as long as you refer to the attached certificate and the attached certificate is properly executed. I told the customer, among other things, there wasn't room enough for my stamp anyway, so one way or another, they were getting a *properly attached* loose certificate.
Why is it that California is among the strictest for their wording, yet none of their own agencies can get the wording right??
