Waiting and waiting on docs

This AM I confirmed a closing for 4:00 PM. BO requested earlier time slot. Tried to accommodate him - to no avail. BO directly called LO. BO calls me - docs will be to me in time for 4:00 PM. Already gave a drop dead time. Why on earth do the LOs schedule when they know they can't be timely? Get the docs done, then schedule!

The LO will schedule because the LO is trying to protect his/her commission. They have no control over when the docs will be available, but the BO is unaware of that. So if the deadline is missed, it's the notary's fault - they'll just reschedule for the next day with a different notary.

LO's have absolutely no compunction about throwing someone else under the bus to save their commission. You're not really a "seasoned" signing agent until you have at least 2 sets of tire tracks on your back...

Sorry Snowflake / Thanks Mike

Oh dear - hope you eventually got docs and all turned out well Snowflake.

Mike -- thank you for the gales of laughter; too-too and so true. "You're not really a "seasoned" signing agent until you have at least 2 sets of tire tracks on your back..."
