a good portable small laser printer????
Can anyone recomend a small portable laser printer for my laptop? Tired of carrying my HP2015 in and out of places.
With rising gasoline costs I am trying to print on the road more often instead of returing to the office. Kinko's prices in my area have risen significantly so I am avoiding them like the plague. Cost me $39 to print two sets of a loan last week. Funny how everyone we do business with seems to think that $25 is a great print fee. You try to go anywhere to print two sets of docs for that, unless if it is a small package it ain't happening.

I have an hp LaserJet P1102w. Lightweight, only one tray, though, but a very small printer. Has served its purpose well.

I use an HP leaserjet 1012 . I just use it to print in the car. It stays in the car. I got it used for $45.00 and it works fine with my 1000 watt inverter.

General thought
Small lasers will cost more per page than large lasers which will cost more to buy but less to operate per page.
Consider using double sided printing 8.5X11 for the client copy and single sided 8.5x14 for the 'original'. This will save $$ in paper quantity and size.
Make sure you get a duplex printer.
Although it may be nice to 'print on the road', how often do you really find this necessary? If often, act accordingly.
I often use my cell phone to capture photos of driver's licenses to ship back with the package. This, however, causes me to return to my office to print them out. A portable printer would work nicely for that.
I try to seal the UPS/FED-X envelope in front of the client then drop it off at a UPS/STAPLES/KINKOS/OFFICEMAX on my way back to the office. Minimize handling.

Why are you going to Kinko's to print? Sorry, it sounds crazy to me to even think of going that route unless absolute emergency where you had a break down and had to be there yesterday.
