hp 4350tn printer problems
Has anyone had this problem:
Just bought a refurbished hp 4350 tn laser printer. I also buy refurbished toner cartridges from Toner Pirates, which I've been doing for years.
I keep getting the message on the printer to install a black printer cartridge and then it says to remove the secure tape from the printer cartridge. I've installed three cartridges and am still getting this message.
Any clue what is going on??? I've hit the peak of my frustration level.
thanks.

I find dipping the printer in a tub full of water untill it stops bubbling tends to make me feel better, although it will not solve the original problem

Don't know if this is of any help but if the refurbished toner cartridges still have the "sealing tab" (not the tape itself) on them then this might be your problem:
54.1 REMOVE THE SEALING TAPE FROM TONER CARTRIDGE Description The toner cartridge was installed with the sealing tape installed. Action
Try to remove the sealing tape, for instructions see the following list: Lift the printer top cover. Remove the print cartridge from the printer. Bend and then pull the sealing tab from the end of the print cartridge to remove the entire length of the tape. Figure 61: Sealing tab on end of print cartridge 1 - Sealing tab bent and removed from end of print cartridge

The people I purchased the printer from is saying it's the cartridge and to go get an hp cartridge. I haven't heard from the Toner Pirates people yet as to what they think it is. I've purchased from them for years and have never had a problem with their cartridges, but this is a first with this model cartridge.
Paul, are you talking about the tab at the end of the tape? There was no tab, just the tape, and it seemed to pull all the way out.
thank you for the responses.

Wow, I meant to say, the people I purchased the printer from "are" saying, blah, blah,.....
Well, I just went out and bought an hp cartridge (buckoo bucks and it didn't make a lick of difference). I'm still getting the same message, so it's got to be the printer.

Hi Jan,
I don't have the same model as you and therefore never encountered the problem you described. I just sent you what was on the HP site as a possibility.
Hopefully, Toner Pirates can sort it out for you.
