I know most of you will think I am dumb for not knowing this...but with gas being so high I am considering getting a portable printer. My question is: can I download and print from my iPhone or do I have to lug around a laptop as well?

There are compaitble printers for the iphone and using Airprint you can print from your iphone. But it needs a wifi network which you will not have in your car. There are apps that allow you to print over the internet (meaning anywhere) but still the printer will need to be connected to a network.

Seems to me, though, that there might be some security issues using wifi. I recommend investigating that issue thoroughly before going that route.

I am thinking of doing a mobile office it too and it occurred to me, couldnt we use a BLUETOOTH enabled laser printer and use oir iphones and ipads? Would be secure insofar as Bluetooth has a limited reach. I found this article on Best Bluetooth adapters for laser printers.
