packages are getting bigger and bigger
with so many duplicates and unnecessary "fluff". Thank goodness this one for 185 pages did not require any FAX backs!

So are my fees! I'm noticing larger packages too. With more lender/notary instructions and erroneous triplicate copies.

I am doing a VA refi this evening. 248 pages, without any appraisal docs, 107 sigs for both husband and wife, 26 pages to be initialed by both, 6 Acks, 1 of which was not CA compliant, and 8 Jurats of which 5 were not CA compliant. Biggest I have ever had to work with.
And, borrower was told by LO that the process should not take more than 30 minutes.

OMG! Please tell me you're getting at LEAST $150 for that!!! That's more than a piggyback closing! Are you kidding me?

Wow, Kodi! Hope you asked for higher fee. Also hope that LO is on call for the duration of your signing.
I had a VA refi yesterday with a total of 148 pages and that took 1-1/2 hrs. HUD-1 was not as they expected so they called their LO, who was also mystified and had to research and get his supervisor involved. It was my last app't of the evening so I was willing to wait (hey, these are our Vets, we can give a little back).

I am doing one tonight (VA) for 212 pages--my largest ever. 12 (x2) notarizations also. This is getting crazy!

I always charge for faxback. I always ask the size of the package, if they don't know the price I quote is for appr. 100 pages, When I get a package of 180 pages, maybe 1% of the time, I call back and ask for more money or I cancel the signing.
