I did a refi signing last nite and one of the 4 borrowers is blind. He is 90 years old and has no POA. His wife helped and guided him throughout the whole process. I felt really bad that he had to sign the whole stack of refi loan doc. Is there any other corrected way to do this? I really appreciate all your help.

Think CA notaries have discussed this here

Here in FL, we'd be in a pickle...any docs needing notarization would have to be read, verbatim, word-for-word by us to the signer before we could notarize it..

Let's just say a loan signing with a blind signer is a very long, tedious process here.

I had a similar signing this past Monday; however, it

was at the office of the BO's attorney. I didn't know the circumstances until I arrived; however it was a pretty smooth signing and didn't take as long as I thought.

Here is my question for you: Did your BO know what he was signing?
