East West Settlement Services-Lori
Has anyone had any luck with getting paid by Lori. I've been trying to be patient, but its been months now. I know she's out of business, but she owes me a good amount of money. Any ideas on getting paid?? Thanks.

In the past, I might have recommended a lawsuit, such as in small claims court. However, the lack of guaranteed victory might only increase your loss with legal expenses, adding further insult to injury.
And, though small claims court may allow someone to file, the judge may toss the case if it's an unreasonable distance for the defendant to travel in response to said lawsuit.
I only mention small claims court, because it is a much lower-cost alternative to Superior Court. And, since there is no guarantee that a person would win their case, they at least reduce their expense in the event that they don't win said lawsuit, assuming that small claims will even allow said case to be filed.
I expect that courts dealing with cases between companies and consumers will be replaced with mandatory mediation that favors the company hosting said legal process. I've sat in on several hundred court cases over the last three decades.
In each instance, when a company was being sued by a consumer, the judge almost always showed favor in his/her reaction toward the company and expressed a nasty attitude toward the consumer. And, when a company was suing a consumer, said company usually won.

IMO you might have to wait a long time, but I think
she will pay you eventually. She had a major personal setback so I don't know that going to small claims court & getting a judgment will help you. I know we're not in the sympathy business, but Lori was always responsible when it came to paying up, no matter what. I think this one's going to require a lot of patience.
