Flex closings

I just got docked $34.00 for not having an ezpay doc signed. These people take two months to pay and then have the nerve to doc me for such an insignificant document. They only pay $75.00 for their closings. Will never ever do work for them again.

Should not have worked for them in the first place

My thoughts exactly.

60 days to pay -- uh, NO.

$75 for the edoc signing -- LOL -- No way!

Flex -- Oh, h*** NO!

Sometimes it takes getting burned really good for someone to actually trust SC and other NSA's when it comes to low-balling and bad companies. The OP should just chalk it up to a hard and expensive lesson and lean to value both themselves and their services.

I will not understand why notaries are not using SC

to check out these companies. There's no point crying after the fact if you agreed to a low-baller in the first place, and these cos. love to increase their profit by lowering yours.
I hope you're wiser in 2013! :-)

Re: I will not understand why notaries are not using SC

Sometimes these calls come in while on road and cannot get online to use SC. Rural area being cell iffy. BUT many years ago I started compiling a lowball/nopay company list and I carry it with me for a quick reference.

SC is the very BEST tool that NOTROT has.

You can still turn back the signing once you get home and

are able to check them out on SC.

Some people think that once they have accepted they must follow through, even with the likes of Flex, I disagree.

I don't understand that mentality at all. Why should I keep something that won't likely pay, or pay in 6 mos.? What kind of business plan is that?

Some ppl think, I made a committment so, I should keep it.

NOT, if they are notorious no pay/ slow pay, you owe them nothing.
Dump em as soon as you can, without any guilt.

Re: I will not understand why notaries are not using SC

Thanks for that idea. I carry the one from NotRot of all SCs. However, I have about 7 companies I don't care to work for, so I will do that.

Was the EZPay document a requirement for the loan? If so, was that told to you? With those automatic payment docs I ask if they want to sign up. If yes then they fill out the form and sign. If not, I have them write "declined" at the bottom and initial. Flex does have a lot of 1-star ratings in SC. Be sure to rate them commensurate with how they treated you.

Sadly, there is no 'zero' or 'minus 5' stars available in SC n/m

Best $34 you ever spent IMHO

Similar to MONEYMAN/TX and jbl/fl............

I sometimes accept a job when on the road and not familiar with the SS. I ask about their rating in NR. Sometimes they'll tell me that it is good, while at other times, some will say that it is not so good, but that they've really made changes and are improving. Worst case, they don't admit to knowing about NR, but at some point during our conversation they say something that lets me know that they are familiar with NR. I'm always leery when they tell me that they got my information from another (much less popular or useful) source than NR, for I tend to think they're hoping I'm not using NR to check their reputation. If I accept, I tell them that the acceptance is conditional upon my satisfaction with the comments in NR, and I let them know that I expect to be at my computer within x hours. If I'm satisfied, I'll keep the assignment, otherwise they'll get my rejection within x hours. Sometimes, all goes well. Sometimes, they don't bother to send the assignment confirmation and I don't hear from them again, and that is OK by me. Roll Tide, yall........

In addition to all the other wise, sage advice...here's my $0.04: *Never print docs* until you've reviewed a company's rating in Signing Central AND...researched them via the orange search button. Therefore, it doesn't matter under what circumstances you accepted the signing (on the road, at home, etc.), if you do the research ***before you print docs*** - and see they are a lowball/slow pay/no pay company, you haven't wasted resources (i.e., paper, toner, gas, time in traffic and with borrowers, etc.) and worked for free.
