Google Maps for IPhone

This might belong in leisure but is Telenav ( paid $6.95 for a year to get voice directions) or google maps the best choice for GPS?

I put google maps on my IPhone (like millions of other people) and I don't know how to get the voice working?
Any help would be appreciated.

Joan, you might be able to find a users manual online and find your answer there. I had an opposite problem. All of a sudden one day, my Galaxy SIII started announcing out loud my appointment reminders, the name of callers and incoming messages, etc. and I didn't know how to turn it off, let alone how I turned it on to begin with. (It was especially a problem with those emails in the wee hours!) I found a user manual online (all 180 pages), and got my answer there. (I hope I can find the time to do more exploring of all that this phone can do before it becomes obsolete... Smile)

The new google maps it's fine Joan, but the old Waze from the apple store is even better. Try it.

With Waze it tells you if there is a cop hiding somewhere in your route, it shows your speed and if there is any debri in the road. And of course voice turn by turn directions.
