Information I hope is interesting if not useful

I was researching something this morning and came across the page where the folllowing link will take you. It is about certifying copies. Hopefully it is all accurate and those of you from the different states can affirm that. I also hope it does in no way contain any advertising. (my disclaimer). There are so many other links from this one with what I though interesting info, such as terms and other topics pertaining to our work. Anyhow here it is.

That's an interesting link, Barb.

However, I couldn't find WHO that link belongs to. I clicked on just about every tab. The "find notary" tab doesn't find a notary but gives a message of "no such URL for that site." It has a provision for notaries to sign up for free. However, can't find a notary through their links.

I'd think it best if any notary refer to their own State's handbook for guidance rather than to a site which is not identifiable and possibly gives out erroneous information or is incomplete.

Wow, Yoli, I didn't see that coming

I was referring to the article which is where the link takes you. My caption also says "information I HOPE is interesting IF NOT USEFUL." And I was more specific. So please re-read what I said.

I always find it interesting to read about notary law from other states. I will more than likely never ever use that law unless I move to one of those states. When I need to refer to notary law for Florida I use my State Handbook as I have for the 12 years I have been notary and as I am sure every other notary on the site has (or should) done. Are you implying reading this article will make them do otherwise? You have very little regard for the members here if you do.

So you see we agree. I think the members would agree. So what's with that last sentence?? I believe your last sentence implies that I are referring them to other references and you don't approve of my post. If that be the case I take exception as I fell like I am being reprimanded by you.

Anyhow, what I thought might be some nice reading turned out to be something it shouldn't. Please also note there is an article on Islamic Law Closing. I plan on reading that also. I probably will never have a use for it but I find it interesting. I didn't even know there was such a thing.

Barb: Sorry you took my post the wrong way.

I, in no way, meant it to be a reprimand. If you'll note, my first line says "interesting link." My big concern is for newbies, who most times start off gullible -- point in fact, many fall for XYZ being the authority in notary law and procedure.

I, in no way, meant to infer you are referring anyone to other references. What I meant to point out was that ANY notary should first rely on their State's notarial law.

Sorry to have offended you. That was not my intent.

Re: Barb: Sorry you took my post the wrong way.

Then it is sensitive I who apologize. Smile

And certainly I agree. That is exactly what a notary should do. I had hoped I made that clear in my OP. Duh. I probably overreacted. Must be the Grinch in me.

To your point about the links. There was a contact us at the bottom of the page but I don't like entering my information unless I know where it is going and what is going to be used for. So I did not pursue any further.

Happy Holidays...

Sorry to spoil your Saturday Night at the Fights, Hugh.

Just not the same without Howard Cosell. Wink

But, more importantly ... life's too short to hold grudges on some simple misunderstanding.

With that said, I am reminded to keep my recommended reading list and movies you must see to myself. ROFL
