Recived a call today
"I have some work for you for a signing Saturday. Are you available? I said yes I was available - are there any faxbacks? Answer Yes. I asked how many pages? Answer the whole package. I said, my fee for faxing a whole package is $1.00 per page. Question -you mean you are going to charge me $100 to fax the package back? Answer, if there are 100 pages, then yes. If one goes to Kinko's or Office Depot the charge is $2.00 a page so you are getting a bargain. Question: Don't you have a fax machine? Answer - yes I do but it costs me to send faxes. Sorry I decline the assignment. Thank you. We never even got to the fee for handling the closing. I beleive my time is worth something and that $1.00 a page also included my time t would take to scan and fax. On a refi, I think this is absolutely rediculous to fax back a whole package.

Not knocking you Monica
But, I work for several TCs that require same day funded closings to be "faxed back". It's been my experience in this field that all same day funded closings must be faxed back. It takes me all of 5 minutes to scan and email the whole package of about 50 - 100 pages. I charge a premium fee to these companies, knowing I will have to provide that service, but it's nowhere near an extra $1 per page. I no longer have a landline to fax, and no company I've dealt with has an issue with the scan vs the fax, and it takes much less time. Have you ever considered using a scanner and email the package, and making it more affordable to the hiring party, and make it profitable for you?
