ServiceLink Text Assignments
Did you guys get an email that you can receive assignments via text. I think this is a great option for Notary Signing Agents. What do you think? I hope it gives us all the details regarding the assignment (pay, page count, fax backs, etc.)

I did. Call me old-fashioned, but, I still prefer the personal touch -- if only to ask all those pertinent questions.
Since my phone plan is set up for a limited number of texts, I opted for email. Besides, I find SL responds quickly to an email. JMHO

I love it. Since I don't check my email often and I don't want to waste battery power and download (I only get 2GB monthly) I prefer SMS even though I do have to click link to accept.
Over the weekend I got an automated phone call and had to say "1" for acceptance then it auto transfer me to the BO which was an incorrect number.
I'm not super tech savvy but I'm always up on the latest ways of doing things. Plus I rather text vs talk.

Lot of hesitancy here. Wonder how long it's 'open for acceptance' and will I have to spend money only to find out it's no longer available? The 'sample' they showed didn't give any info other than date, time, location. Leaves a LOT of questions unanswered. And then as Toni said...it immediately dials the B??? I really don't want to have that conversation while I'm pulled off the road somewhere with little resources available. (I map everything as best is available...and then listen to the B say "No, it's really easier if you go another way...")
Just call me, OK?

It's a direct link just for you. As for how long it's open, that I don't know.
I get text messages from varies companies about signings and if I don't answer they call me to accept or decline.
Servicelink automated call you can just hang up after you accept. It auto emails you a confirmation when you accept.

Got my first automated phone call, not a text.
I think it was from ServiceLink, last week. I accepted the assignment, but the call ended without proper completion. After I accepted, the recording said that it was mandatory that a confirmation call be placed to the borrower, and would be done immediately. I heard the automated dialing, followed by a recording stating the old, familiar "that number is no longer is service." After that went on for a while, without anything else happening, I just hung up. Now, maybe the folks at SL will realize the inaccuracy of the numbers shown as the phone numbers of the borrowers. Yes, I realize the numbers are provided by the lenders and passed along to us. I seriously believe that the numbers I get from SL are the most inaccurate, but that might be partially due to SL being one of my biggest and most active clients. All too often, the numbers are copied incorrectly, are no longer in service, do not include the number preferred by the borrower, or are at some job where there is no way the borrower can come to the phone. Today provided a good example: the borrower works in a coal mine. When a lady answered the phone, she said "Sir, he is way down in the mine, and there's no way I can have him come to talk with you." All too often, when I finally contact the borrowers, they say something like, "why didn't you just use my cell phone number (not one I was given), like the loan officer does?" One of my favorites (second to today's coal mine call) was answered by a guard at a closed (out-of-business) General Motors assembly plant. He said, "Sir, there's really nobody here but us guards, and that name aint one of us!" A sense of humor helps.

Does it really tell you about faxbacks?
It seems their schedulers never do...

The telephone numbers to .........
Federal Prisons, Hospitals and Unified School districts. Why in the world are these numbers given out to call borrowers and we don't realize it until we've called? People should not be bothered at work in the first place. I immediately hang up.
