The best thing to do is search with the orange button. I would buy a refurbished machine. My preference is a dual tray HP. I would suggest to not get a superfast printer at this time. If you get extremely busy, you may want one. also, many of us have more than 1 printer. I think that we all search here then decide what to do. I am sure that your mentor has plenty of good ideas. She has been in this business a long time.
Good luck to you. By the way, I prefer to answer on the forum rather than text you. Texting takes too long. Also, answering on the forum may also help other people.

Just get a hp4350. It's drivers are more compatable with windows 7 and if you don't like the business you can sell it on ebay or craigs list. The high yield replacement cartridges are only $45, cheaper then my old hp4100 and I get 18,000 if not more set at 300 dpi.
I paid about $350 including delivery and dual trays are standard. I've learned not to go cheap with the tool that WILL make you the most $$$$ aside from your marketing.

My 4200n is just fine as is my 1320tn mobile. But, remember, which ever one you buy, don't worry too much about the speed. I have found that the speed depends on how escrow scans the docs. I've had them print at full speed capacity of my printer down to around 1 ppm when the docs weren't scanned properly.

Where do you get the cartridges for only $45?
I looked them up and I found them for $80.
