AFA Title
I had the good fortune to receive two orders from AFA. They were only rated 2.5 stars on signing central so I was a lilttle apprehensive. I must say I couldn't have had a better experience. They paid in 7 days, there was no handholding, no fax backs, and the individuals i spoke with at AFA were extremely pleasant and easy to work with. I would recommend them very highly.

Allen - if you would go to Signing Central (see blue tab above) and rate your experience with them that will help to keep the ratings current. That is where you need to put these comments, unless, of course, someone here is asking for G/B/U on the company. Also, link your post to the proper company, then all postings about this particular company will come up when someone does a search.
Thank you.

Well aren't you the lucky one. Was like pulling teeth to get paid. Another notary just a couple months ago when through the mill trying to get paid also. We both finally did. What may I ask you did to get paid so easily? Did they ask you to come on here and give them a good rating?

No Linda they did not ask me for anything other than closing the loan.

Thats already been done before I posted here, I just wanted to be sure everyone had a chance to read of my experience as the companies rating was lower than they deserve.

I always enjoyed working with them but had problems getting paid. I'm glad to hear they're paying quickly now. :-)

This was just back in Dec that my friend was having all kinds of problems getting paid. So, it has to be a lot longer with many good posts about them that I will believe they have truly changed. I'm glad you got paid without any hassles.

great, you and "your friend" can certainly choose the jobs you want to take....others can appreciate the OP's info and also choose for themselves...

I did just did one on 2/6 for $125, (e-docs). Sent required invoice next morning. The check was cut on 2/10 and I received it yesterday, 2/13. It doesn't get much better than the one's I am handed a check at the closing table. I hope they can keep things turned around and stay busy. I would be a nice for all involved.

I was paid promptly for 2 closings I handled for them. As I mentioned in a previous post, they have a new payment policy and pay at funding or before. Keith is the person who turned things around for this company.

Problem is, they claimed previously to have turned things
around, and then they went back to their old payment policy and non-payment practices. I do hope they have finally come around this time to understand that they MUST pay the notary promptly if they want to continue to have notaries willing to close their loans.
When they have called me during the last two years, I have declined their jobs due to their continued poor payment reputation and one personal experience I had with them in 2009. I do hope they continue to receive positive payment feedback here on NotRot.

Keith's hand was forced, that's the only reason I got paid..
I believe I'm the friend that LindaJ is referring to. I did a job back in November for Keith and hadn't been paid yet at the 30 day mark when he called me again to do another job. I informed him that I hadn't yet been paid for the previous job and he claimed I hadn't sent him my invoice. I had, but I went ahead and sent it again, but turned down the current job offer. About a month later I got a call from someone else in the office for a job and I informed him that I STILL had not been paid for the November job; he put Keith on the phone and this time he promised payment that week. I had called him a few times prior to this and left messages with never a return call and no check. It wasn't til he was handed to phone to talk to me that I truly believed I'd actually get paid. His hand was forced, otherwise I don't think he'd have sent payment. He also had some song and dance story about bookkeeping not being able to open my invoice attachment. Right...and I was born yesterday... I keep getting calls from them, but fortunately they are for jobs way out of my area, so I'm able to say no thanks. My first clue or red flag about this company should have been him telling me to name my price...
