First American Title 1099 question

Anyone know if First American has some subidary company?

I received a sizeable 1099 from them and I have no records of working for them and I have not done business with FASS since 2002.

Someone else posted earlier today that they listed all the closings on the back of the 1099 - does yours have that?

the reverse of the 1099 has the date and a check number, but no $$ amount of the check nor the total of the check nor individual closings.

I know Fidelity is the underwriter for Servicelink, this is so strange.

I got 1099's from Service Link, I got 2 of them, I guess one is from Service Link and one is from National Link. I only did one signing for National Link last year. They both say Service Link however. Strange they didn't put them on the same 1099.

To Jayhawk

ServiceLink will issue two 1099s if you have worked for ServiceLink and ATM/ServiceLink. NationalLink issues their own 1099 under the name of NationalLink. Hope that helps you.

Mine from them lists the date check issued, check number, name of borrower and amount for each borrower and invoice number.

Re: First American Title 1099 question seems this is common

Mine just says Item Box 7 (nonemp.comp) then Date Check Num and Group which is blank.

Just got thru due to time difference here and I received a ticket number for my claim and someone will get back to me in 48 hours....evidentally this happens all the time--which is really strange that a company has a system devoted to incorrect 1099's.

Where & how do you sign up with First American Title? I checked their web site and could not find the info. Apreciate your help.

Re: First American Title 1099 question seems this is common

The closings were thru First American Signature Services. I'm assuming that they are an in-house signing service for First American Title.
