Health insurance.
Where do all you self employed, independant contract notary/signing agents get your health insurance from? Any suggestions on where to find the best priced health insurance? I am also a CA Realtor and I may end up getting my health insurance through the C.A.R., however, I am in the market for insurance at the best price. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Susan

Susan, I am a licensed insurance agent that offers health, life and disability. I am licensed in CA, however, I would be happy to consult with you and help you understand what is out there and the differences without charge or obligation to you.

AARP after 50
I have had coverage, not called insurance, but better than some insurance plans, for 12 years through AARP. They have an acceptable but minimal plan, IMO. I think for those that have had the company they work for paying for their coverage, it may come as a shock to have to start paying for their own coverage. This AARP plan runs $216.50/mo. for me and my husband (who has many health issues). It includes a 24-hour hotline with direct contact with an RN to answer questions, which I find very helpful.

Re: AARP after 50
Can you tell us the name of the program? I'd like to find out more about what's covered. That sounds dirt cheap to me - and may be worth renewing my AARP membership. Did you have to go through an underwriting process to get covered? Thanks!

Since I am a pert-time Signing Agent, I have health, Dental and Vision with my current employer.
Years ago when I had another business full-time I joined the Chamber of Commerce and was offered Health and Dental Insurance through the Chamber - it was affordable because it was based on a group of business owners.

If you have a preexisting condition and you have been denied
coverage, apply for the PCIP.com . It is government sponsored coverage available in 22 states for people who can't otherwise get coverage. It's a nice plan at a very reasonable cost.
