excessive pages in a loan package

Has anyone run into a situation where they accept a signing and then find that the docs are over 170 pages? This to me is excessive and they want to pay only $100.

I feel this is almost like 2 loans and my fee should at least be $150 or better.

Your thoughts.

170 pages is a bit much. There is nothing wrong with calling the hiring entity and asking for extra $'s. On the other hand I always check to see how many pages of instructions are in there that don't need to be printed for BO's.

That is a very large package.

My standard fee for edocs is $100, but it goes up from there depending on the size of the package, fax backs, mileage, etc.

You may want to state a standard fee and then tell SS any package over xxx pages will be an additional $25 or what ever you set your fee for.

Don't know about an additional $50, but I've gotten fees increased by up to $25 for excessive sized packages. (Fee varied by excess.)

170 pgs is definitely excessive. I charge an additional $25.

Well, sounds like you've been "snookered" by the SS/TC. The best defense against such "abusive behavior" is to ask plenty of questions before accepting the signing appointment. Each transaction stands on it own, so you need to make sensible a decision each time you consider working. However, even a longtime signer, like me, can get "snookered" from time to time. I did not ask enough questions just the other day and Kowabunga! I ended up with a 200+ page POA signing that took over 3 hours to complete. It was a familiar, reputable signing company that caught me off guard. They were probably very happy to find someone willing to work for slave wages that day? Bummer!

Re: Excessive pages in a loan package (type of ideas)

up to pages____ cost $
add'l pages cost $ 0.50 , 0.75 or 1.00

or

up to pages _____cost $
for every addl 25 pages cost$_____(could be discounted)

This is just to give a suggestion....( I have been paid this way for large docs...signing companies does complain/they may negotiate though)
