Does anyone know the minimum megapixels a phone camera needs to have to take photo ID pictures?

Is this something you want to do? Why not just try it & see. n/m

Just thought of something....
Years ago, before cameras had all these super capabilities, I read that when you upgrade to the 3 or 4 mgeapixels, use the old camera (1 mg) for putting stuff online, such as eBay, etc.
So it appears that 1 mg. will be fine as a min. Perhaps not 8" x 10" fine art quality....but may do the job needed.

I carry a cheap all-in-one in the car for making copies of ID. It's been a life-saver & I don't have to worry about downloading & printing the ID's later. :-)

Taking photos of IDs is not really smart... it's best to carry a small, cheap copy machine with you, one that doesn't keep a memory of the item being copied.
I would not be cool with anyone taking a photograph of my ID. No way. Nuh uh. Not happening.
