My New HP printer (Pro 400 m401ln )is leaving heavy black lines when it prints just llike my former 2015dn. I need a replacement that will be a workhorse. Any suggestions? Feel free to email me.

Are you certain it's not a bad cartridge?

My 2055d sometimes does that. When it does, I turn off the printer, close the doc file pdf, reboot the computer, turn the printer on, open the file, and print. That has corrected the problem which has appeared only 2 or 3 times in 2 years. I think there was something unusual about the file or my actions with it. I believe the problem happened once when the file was still transferring to the printer and I got impatient and opened another program.

I have had it happen with both of my printers, and unfortumately it happens pretty often. I will get to a closing, realize the problem, and have to pull copies from the borrower's set.
It ALWAYS happens when I printe the 2nd copy of Chase docs to the Statement of Borrower's benefits.
I turn off the printer, close the doc.file pdf. I then turn the printer back on and re-open the pdf file. I don't reboot the computer.

I discovered SUMMERTIME printer problems
This time every year I've come to the realizization that my trusty printer (P2015) may be failing me. And every time, I remember it's not.
I get a wide (2") line of loose toner directly down the pages.
Turns out, it's actually from humidity on the paper!
I store my paper in an indoor garage, but it does get humid in there. Now, all open cases of paper move indoors, and I ensure I've got 2-3 days of paper on hand in the house where it can be regulating before I pop it into the printer. I also moved paper storage to a shelf where it has air circulation.

I own 2 HP 2015s.
I buy them surplus for $25-50, I've bought three, sold one for $125 and keep another as my backup machine in case the first one ever dies. So far, no luck. It keeps going and going and going!!

Try this setting.
Print as image. It's slower but clears up the black streaks. I only select it when I have the black streak problem.
