So Cal Signings
I am posting regarding So Cal Signings. It seems Lisa and her company have gotten a bad rap in the past. I would like to go on record saying I have not had any problems with payment from the company. They pay based on net 45 days. Communiction is the key with Lisa and So Cal Sginings. She is flexible if you communicate with her and negotiate the terms for your services. I have worked with the company for 2 years and have not had a payment problem. Since others have given negative press it is my duty to provide positive feedback based on my experience with So Cal up to this point.

Well, goody for you. When she calls me and I tell her my fee (which is usually $125) she tells me its too much. If you are working for less than that, hope you are making as good a profit as she is.

Thank You Ilonia For Posting This....
....We hear so much negative on this board every day......and even when you tried to post something nice about a company......we still have to hear the negative. Well I am so glad that you have posted this. I did a few signings for So Cal Signings over the past two months, and I was very happy with them. I am hoping they call me again for more signings.

Re: Thank You Ilonia For Posting This....
I was just telling you MY experience with them. If that's not allowed then what is this board all about?

I wasn't so much what you said.....it was how you said it...
....and I thought the Goody for you part to Ilonia probably could have been left out of your post. We would have still been able to tell that you didn't have a good experience with them without that part. It didn't seem very nice to Ilonia when your bad experience was with So Cal signings, not Ilonia. Just saying......

On guard, Princeton
Proceed at your own risk! Ilonia and PegiT are glowing over their experience with SoCal but I'm one of their many victims. You won't hear me say a kind word about how they cheated me after promising and promising to pay.

And, do you think for one moment they gave stiffing you a fleeting thought as they vacationed luxuriously in Europe? NOT!
Look out. Don't whine on this forum when you get stiffed. LOL.

Re: it is my duty to provide positive feedback ???? Wha???
SoCal signings has never changed addresses or phone numbers in 12 years, if any one feels that they have not been paid, or something was missed please feel free to call me 909-917-4586 We used to be a regular posters on NotRot, but as I was told by the regulars of years past that this was a place for signing agents and not signing companies I have not wanted to engage. SoCal signings has been around for 12 years, getting through the tough years as well
if anyone feels something has been missed please call me. Anything I say might be picked apart endlessly by those who have time. I will not reply further. I just wanted to offer my cell number for those who might need to contact me. Certainly we are not perfect and if something has been missed please call. Lisa Bittner

I like SoCal too.
I am really appalled by some people here at NR. Someone decides to randomly post something nice about a company they are happy with, and then other people jump on SoCal like sharks at a feeding frenzy. Don't we work with the public? Don't we know how to be polite and professional? Just because someome said something nice does not mean someone else paid them to do it.
If you have not been paid by a company, CALL someone. And when you call them, there is no reason to shred them. Sometimes checks get lost in the mail. Sometimes invoices are not received because their fax machine is glitching that day. Sometimes the check gets sent to the wrong notary. Sometimes I make a mistake on MY accounting. Sometimes you are arguing with the incorrect company. All of these things have happened to me over the years by different companies, and a polite, patient phone call solves the problem.
If you don't want to work for what they pay, then fine. Some signing services are also in a bind. I know the HUD frequently says a high price, but sometimes that is an over-inflated price. Just like it is difficult for us to get more money out of the signing services, the signing services are also having a hard time getting more money out of the title companies. If a signing service is only getting $100 for a job, how can they pay the notary $125?
Positive feedback on a company is just as important and valid as negative feedback. It might not be as fun for some people who want to be reincarnated as piranhas, but I am glad for the notaries who are thoughtful enough to say something kind once in a while.

Appalled? Really?
Really, CJ. I don't know why you are so "appalled" Several people wrote, including you, that they love SoCal. Fine. Great. I'm really glad y'all are getting paid. Really! Lisa must be doing something right.
However my experience (and many others', apparently) was not so positive, and I would not have responded at all to the OP, as I usually don't when SoCal is mentioned on this board, except that Princeton indicated that as a result of all the glowing reports, he was going to seek work with them. I felt at that point is was my duty, (yes, duty) to let him know it hasn't been all roses for everybody who works for SoCal as far as getting paid. I'm sorry if I spoiled the coo & goo lovefest, but there are two sides to every SS. In fact the OP started out her post by sayng she realized SoCal has had a bad rep in the past.
And for some reason you seem to think that I never called them or never talked to anyone about nonpayment? What gave you the right to assume that? That's just plain nuts. In fact the last phone call I got from them went something like this: Hello, we have a signing .. Me: (Appalled they'd call when they'd been ignoring my demands for payment): Well, I'd like to, but you still owe me from such and such. SoCal: Oh, blubber blubber blubber, hangs up. Seriously.
I have put SoCal in my rear view mirror of bad memories and until now have never joined in any post about them and wouldn't have now except to alert Princeton. Which, in retrospect, I should have done by PM so as not to ruin this meeting of the SoCal fan club.

Re: Appalled? Really?
Hi Golden Girl,
If you have not had good experiences with SoCal Signing, then I can't argue with that. My experience is different. I don't work for people who I don't like, so it's your perogotive to do as you see fit. We all need to do what we think is best.

Looking at my records, I have been paid on average within 10 days from signing, from SoCal. They were professional to deal with, which goes a long way with me. Personally I would definitely work with them again.

They pay me on time.
I have never had any problem with SoCal Signings. They get the work order and docs to me quickly, the signings go smoothly, the checks come in the mail quickly, they pick up the phone and solve problems. I look forward to more calls from them. No one paid me to say this - they don't have to.
