Diff'rent strokes

Re the recent thread about keeping docs in order:

I always keep them in the order received not necessarily because of all the threatening instructions to do so, but I have always used the borrower's copy to make the initial "presention." As in: I put their settlement statement, note and first payment letter on top and highlight (yes! neon highlighters!) underneath the main numbers (amount due, amount borrowed, interest rate, new monthly payment. first payment date) and run that past them in 30 seconds or less. Generally, everybody's on board (thank goodness); then I put all that away and and move to the signing package.

I just struck me as kinda funny that after all these years reading about how we pretty much all do the same docs up front that I now see most everybody uses the signing package (which never would have occurred to me!) not the borrowers' copy. I know, trivial stuff, still .....

Statement of information always goes to the back so I can flip through on my double check when they are filling that form out. It save a lot of sit and watch the pens move time

Absolutely, Clem! I save the worst til last. Then, they are really motivated to fill that sucka out and send me on my way. Great time to recheck for any missing stuff, too.

Ya, I'm with you! I used to dislike that form but now have

an appreciation for its usefullness to my process : )
I kind of like your method of using the borrowers docs for the show and tell. I will give it a try.
