Good Clients may have cash flow issues

Two clients who have always paid within 30days are now running behind. I've been told by one payment was mailed last week and nada and the other mailing it out today. The one going out today is a week over due the other is going on 45 days.

I get nervous when good clients change payments without notice, last two months have slowed down in my area EOM does not make a whole month in this business. I'm sure they will pay in the long run.

I initially wont have problems but what I dont like is when they tell me they sent the payment or will send the payment out in a few days and weeks later you dont have the payment and then they have some new excuse.

My take is be honest with me, if you are going to be late on sending me the payment just tell me. What makes them look bad is the amount of excuses they give before you find out the truth. After that I dont care how good of a client you are, your integrity is gone in my eyes.

Agree...I get tired of the excuses or check has been lost, they will resend etc. Just make a note in your phone L/P (late Pay) as a reminder when they call during crunch time, you are busy.
