Uh-oh

Up till 3 a.m. last night. Lucy the Chihuahua and Hugh the NSA both had upset stomachs. Lucy cured hers by ingesting a few blades of grass. Unfortunately, that didn't work for me.

Phone woke me up early this AM. I had heard all I needed to hear when the caller said "Global." He wanted to know if I had any availability Tuesday.

"Yeah," I do," I growled, "but not for you folks. Your company has horrible reputation."

"Well...okay, then," he mumbled, obviously taken aback, and hung up.

I went back to sleep, quite the self-satisfied signing agent, having decisively put one scumbag signing service in its proper place.

Checked the Caller ID later. The caller was UST Global. UST Global's rating in Signing Central: 3 1/2 stars. Of the last four ratings, three were five stars, one four stars. On the other hand, the rating for Global Notary, which has been the subject of extensive comment in NotRot lately, is 2 1/2 stars.

I don't feel nearly as self-satisfied now.

You idiot!

One lesson I've learned as an NSA is to be polite to whoever calls... even if it's the devil himself (like SOX). You can politely say no thanks without all the drama.

That way you won't humiliate yourself when you realize you told off the wrong SS; you won't jeopardize the reputation of the entire NSA profession by making a fool of yourself (this makes us all look bad), and alot of these schedulers move on to other SS/TCs and will remember Mr. Cranky Pants and not call you again.

P.S. I hope Lucy's feeling better! Give her a smooch from me.

Oh no!!! I feel your pain (in spite of my giggling over your post), but take solace in the fact that it's only ONE of many SS. There are many others on SC that you can now practice being gentle with!!! This mistake does not define you.

UST Global may be 3.5 stars in SC

But if it makes you feel better - they pay $40 for their modifications, and not a penny more (and I had to prod them to get that for the one I did for them).

I don't think you need to feel any regrets...at least not IME.

Finding that out would have been enough to give me an upset stomach.

I've been caught on the other side of that issue.

There is a great co., Global Title, that I have worked with. The other week Global Notary called & I had said yes. I also didn't know at the time that they are tied to Nations Direct. (thanks to this forum)
Don't you just hate it when the names are so similar....... grrrr.....
