The first few months of the year were great. I was even beating last year's quota. However, business has been considerably slower for me since May-down by 30% from last year.

Busy here.

I had a company try to pay me $5.00 less today because the job was close by. I told them that is not the point, and stuck to my fee. They called back in 10 minutes with my full fee.
Stick to your fees. Don't let the S.S.'s get away with that crap!

It's been a very good year, in fact I'm overlooking the beach in Playa del Carmen as I type. My phone is still contantly ringing, however I'm not answering. The folks that I regularly work with already know where and how to get a hold of me if really needed. My first day back (Monday) is already booking up.

If it's slow for you, let your fingers fly free on the phone AND hit the pavement. Get your face back in front of the those who need you. If you've got time to post how slow it is, you've got time to make a call.
