AKA

I had clients today that refused to sign the way their names were printed. (Nothing unusual about that) So I called the signing service for some assistance and they proceded to tell the borrowers that they can sign any way they want as long as they put the name the way they are signing on the AKA statement. They signed with her initials and his east Indian name.
I guess that means you can sign Mickey Mouse as long as you put it on tfhe AKA.

I wonder if that is going to be acceptable to the TC and lender.

I hope you still get paid if this loan signing needs to be redone.

I did what the hiring service told me to do and by the time I finished the signing I was so disgusted I didn't care if I got paid or not. I don't usually feel this way but this was an exception.

If you haven't already done so, it might be a good idea to send an email to the hiring service restating what they told you to do that that you did it. Just in case this becomes an issue in the future, like at payment time. I've been there with the verbals... people tend to forget the details, intentionally or otherwise.

Thank you, I will.
I just spoke with them again and they insist that if this is their legal signature, even though it is not the name on the DOT, it is OK.
I don't know how this is going to record??

I don't think so. But the important thing is you right now and your CYA. I do it all the time now. Either I ask for an email or I write it with details and I get names. Because many times even in the best of circumstances people forget and in the worse the notary goes under the bus.

That is not your problem....the recording is the least of your worries.

What I am hearing here is that the people are signing with their usual and customary signature, but it does not say Jane Q. Public and John Q. Public, but for her jp and him some kind of symbol. If that is the way they sign everything, then that is their signature. How can anyone be expected to do more?

Any more, all I look for is that what they sign is similar to what they have signed on the ID they present to me. If Jane Q. Public signs her ID jp, that is good enough for me. And if his ID has that symbol, why would I ask for something else?
