Anyone have a Dell 2330dn Laser Printer?
I searched the forum, and did not see this particular printer addressed. I originally purchased this printer as a single tray printer. Recently ordered and installed additional tray, to make it a dual tray system. However, cannot figure out how to get it to automatically print correct paper size. I have selected the print to correct paper size option in Adobe Acrobat when printing PDFs, but the documents continue to print from Tray 1 regardless of the document size.

Re: Google is your friend
You need to configure your printer so it knows it has two trays. You need to make sure you have the correct printer software and updated drivers. I Googled the printer and several sites came up with instructions.

Hi Carolyn, thank you so much for your response. I have been using both google and Dell's website trying to figure this thing out. The problem is that most of the instructions, along with the manuals refer to Windows XP, Windows 2000 and Windows Vista operating system. I have Windows 7 operating system. Unfortunately the printer properties in Windows 7 operating system differ from previous versions. I will continue my search. Just wondering if someone had success already with this device.

Re: Google is your friend
Not sure how old the info is, but according to what I copied from a forum for the printer, there doesn't appear to be a driver for Windows 7. Without the correct driver, there may be other features of the printer that won't work properly.
<<Verify that your printer is compatible with your computer. The printer supports Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista™, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000, Macintosh® OS® 10.3 and above.
Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows 98, Windows 95, Macintosh OS 9x and 10.2 are not supported by this printer.>>

Re: Google is your friend
My computer is compatible with my printer, both are Dells, and I have been using them together for a couple of years. I have never run into any issues even when I upgraded the operating system to Windows 7 Professional. My only problem is trying to get the the printer to recognize and print by paper size automatically. It will print from each tray manually with no problem. I guess this could be considered a compatibility issue. Thank you so much for your help Carolyn. I am sure there has to be a way to make this work, and I will continue to research.
