Bad business

I have been trying to collect my fee from a company called SSA (Safir Signing Agents, LLC). I completed the closing on 1-25-12. I emailed them about the payment on 2-24-12 and got a casual reply that they would get the check out soon. Followups on 3-5-12 and 3-22-12 have not gotten any results. I just want to let everyone know that this is my experience and hope it saves someone else lost time and revenue.

Yes, it is bad business, BUT you can help yourself in the future. Look up EVERY company that calls you in SC and look at their ratings and read the comments and also do a search for the company. This will prevent (most) of the problems with non paying companies. If you would have read the comments (there are many many negative comments) posted about Safir, hopefully you would not have accepted the assignment. Took me forever a long time ago to finally get paid from him.

Good advice from Linda. Many of us know to check out SC

so we can minimize our collection efforts. I don't know how they get anyone to take work from them. They have an established "dead-beat" reputation. They also operated as Genuine Title for a while.
Sorry to hear you got stuck. Keep after them until you get paid!

I will serve the court summons, if you do a small claim

His business practices are actually criminal; its theft of services.

Hi,
This company is notarious for paying slowly. I did a closing in August of 2011 and finally got paid in Jan. 2012. I ended up copying the title company on all my emails, and did get paid. I would send a copy of the order to the title company, with an explanation, and ask if they can address this with Safir Signings. By the way, they will also call and refer to themselves as Genuine Title instead of Safir signing. I don't accept closings from them anymore.

After all the bad posts about this company over the past, I wouldn't admit it if I took a signing form them.

Contact: Jay Zukerberg, Esq. 443.738.3400, [e-mail address], 443.738.3401, He is the attorney for which Safir schedules.

If that doesn't work, you could also file a complaint with the state bar against this attorney. If Safir is working at his direction, then you could file a complaint for failure to fulfill contractual obligations in a real estate transaction. In my experience, complaints to the state bar work every time.

Sincere thanks to everyone who provided feedback about this issue. I will learn from the aggravation experienced and use SC before taking new assignments. The collection process will continue on the deadbeat Kosty and I will enjoy the challenge of calling him every name in the book without ever resorting to profanity. Again, thanks for your inputs and suggestions. Good luck to one and all.

I contacted Jay thru his phone number and he returned my call IMMEDIATELY. He asked me to email him details and my invoice and he would see that this payment (mine is from Feb 2012) would be processed immediately. Maybe this will help someone. Hopefully I will receive my payment ASAP.
